Service Description

In this ongoing class, students will be introduced to letters, sounds that letters make, and vocabulary pictures that represent the letter sounds. Students will listen to alphabet stories, watch alphabet videos, and play alphabet games. Letters are introduced in a carefully controlled manner and students are encouraged to practice saying letter names and sounds per class. Students are introduced to letters and are encouraged to repeat until they gain independence. This interactive class is full of fun, laughter, and movement. The class will meet live via zoom once a week for 30 minutes. This is perfect for young learners learning how to develop appropriate attention spans. Students will receive worksheet resources to go along with the lessons. Students can jump into any class session because each session is independent of the others. Learning goal: By the end of each class, students will be able to identify the letter name and its most common sound with minimal assistance. Homework: Homework is assigned but not mandatory. The assignments will be done outside of class for extra practice for those who want to complete the assignments. The homework shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to complete. Materials list: Students are encouraged to bring letter tile manipulatives or flashcards to class. They can bring items that reference the letter being taught. This will allow all learning styles to be utilized in class. Pre-skills: Students should know how to operate the remote control sharing tool in order to have access to manipulate objects on a shared screen. Parents can assist students as needed. Students should know how to mute and unmute themselves when called on. Behavior: Students are expected to maintain appropriate behavior throughout the duration of the class. Parents understand that children can be removed from class from behavior impeding the ability of others to learn. Parents also agree that they will not receive a refund in whole or part if students are removed from class due to behavior. Technical issues and cancellations: Parents understand that if they have technical problems during class, it is their sole responsibility and no refund will be issued. Parents understand they must cancel a class at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged for the class.
